Students are taught a variety of basic techniques to improve their drawing skills. However, younger students are not told to correct their work or make unwanted changes. Simple techniques are shared, but if a young student is enjoying their own process and results, they are encouraged to carry on. Students have the opportunity to work with graphite, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, watercolor, acrylic paint, and more.
Following the lesson, students are encouraged to explore their own ideas and to use their imagination to create personal and unique artworks. Guidance is provided on how to best use the materials to ensure success. A range of materials are available including clay, felt, construction paper, and more.
